Our Bulldog puppies are carefully placed in selected
homes. We strive to ensure each of our puppies is
placed in it's forever home. We stay in regular contact
way. Matching lifestyles with the personalities of the
puppies is important. This ensures that a laid back
puppy doesn't end up in a home that is very active or
vise versa....
Buying a bulldog from a reputable breeder is hard.
There are many scams out there and not all breeders
are the same. The first thing is not to buy from a pet
store, broker, or someone who is selling puppies that
they have not bred and raised themselves. The
breeder should not let the puppy leave before 8
weeks old EVER. The breeder should not have "tons"
of dogs or litters per year. A lot of "back yard"
breeder sites.... they talk highly about the pedigree
having lots of Champions, Champion sired, etc. Just
because they bred to a champion dog does not mean
that the bitch they bred him to is quality to the breed
Standard. Also, they advertise a Champion pedigree
but they could not tell you anything about the dogs in
that pedigree or their pros and cons to the breed
standard of each. They just use this as an advertising
tool to sell the puppies. A true breeder has put titles
on dogs and is familiar with the breed standard and
what it takes to produce a quality litter to the breed
standard. They heavily screen their buyers to ensure
that each puppy goes to its forever home not just the
first person who has the money to pay for it.
Buying a puppy should never be a spur of the moment
decision. Be sure of your decision and the breeder
before you even go look at puppies. Once you see
those adorable puppies you will want to take one
home.
Bringing a new puppy into your home is a lifetime
commitment and comes with a lot of responsibilities.
Bulldogs LOVE to be with people... Do you have a very
busy schedule? Do you work a lot? Have crazy
shifts/long hours? Busy running with kids?
Non smoking homes only. Smoking can lead to
respiratory problems. Have you done your research?
Bulldogs have certain health limitations and are not
that has very few health concerns, consider another
breed.
Bulldoggers who show generally breed for their next
generation of show dogs. No matter how carefully we
breed, only a few will make it to the show ring. The
pups that do not meet the rigorous show standards
will be sold as pets. These puppies will be sold on a
spay/neuter contract. Show prospect puppies will be
sold on a co-ownership contract only.
I hope you find this informative. If you have any
questions please feel free to contact me. My goal is
to help you find a quality puppy whether that is from
myself or another breeder. Bulldogs are my passion
and I want you to have the same love for them as I
do......
AKC Registration and Quality (www.AKC.org)
AKC is a registry body. A registration certificate
identifies the dog as the offspring of a known sire and
dam, born on a known date. It in no way indicates the
quality or state of health of the dog. Quality in the
sense of "show quality" is determined by many factors
including the dog's health, physical condition, ability
to move and appearance. Breeders breeding show
stock are trying to produce animals that closely
resemble the description of perfection described in
the breed standard. Many people breed their dogs
with no concern for the qualitative demands of the
breed. When this occurs repeatedly over generation
after generation the animals, while still purebred, can
be of extremely low quality. Before buying a dog, you
should investigate the dog's parentage (including
titles, DNA and pedigree information), the breeder's
breeding practices, the breed standard, and the breed.
